Company portrait of the Hans Hamberger AG
Our business, which was founded in 1863, has about 30 employees and is involved with pyrotechnics and related fields. In 1989 the firm became part of the German Piepenbrock industrial and services concern.
The success story began in 1863 with the founding of the firm by Professor Johann-Rudolf Hamberger on the idyllic Lake of Brienz. The Bengal lights illuminating the Giessbach Falls established the form?s place in pyrotechnics. By 1875 the first workshop in Brienz was already too small and the firm moved to the present "Moos" site occupying 65,000 square metres at Oberried on the Lake of Brienz.
In 1881 the first Hamberger firework display illuminated the night sky above the spa park at Interlaken and in 1897 the King of Siam was fascinated by the unique skills of the Swiss with regard to firework displays. The state visit of the German Emperor in 1912 ended with a gigantic Hamberger firework display masterpiece above the Lake of Zurich
